NCAT Releases "Soil Health Innovations in Public Policy" Panel Recording, Featuring Aria McLauchlan
On March 9, 2021, our Executive Director, Aria McLauchlan, spoke on an expert panel on "Soil Health Innovations in Public Policy" during the National Center for Appropriate Technology's (NCAT) inaugural Soil Health Innovations Conference.
NCAT recently released the recording of the panel among a series of 19 videos exploring leading soil health topics, including on-farm practices, soil biology, carbon markets, and public policy.
Rewatch the conversation here:
The conversation, introduced by Jeff Schahczenski, Ag Economist at NCAT, moderated by Arohi Sharma, Policy Analyst at the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC), and featuring Dr. Bianca Moebius-Clune, Climate Initiative Director at American Farmland Trust (who served as Director, Soil Health Division at the Natural Resources Conservation Service at the time of recording), and Dr. Dorn Cox, Research Director at OpenTEAM, explored how innovations in soil health data can help catalyze innovations in healthy soil policy at the state and federal level.
NCAT's first annual Soil Health Innovations Conference featured "nationally recognized experts and innovative farmers from around the U.S. who share the latest in soil science, best practices in soil management, and the emerging technologies that will drive the future of sustainable and regenerative agriculture." Stay tuned for the second annual conference in 2022!
