Land Core - Giving Tuesday Newsletter 2024
Dear friends & colleagues,
We are inspired everyday by the potential of healthy soils. From healthier food and cleaner water, to creating more resilient farms that can better weather floods or drought, soil is the key to a thriving future. At Land Core, we’re fueled by the conviction that rebuilding our nation’s soils will foster resilience and profitability of US agriculture and strengthen our communities more broadly.
Your gift will help us continue to advance soil health and push for practical infrastructure and economic incentives that can create a more resilient agricultural system.
Your support will:
Help us advance soil health in the policies and programs that shape our food, health and farming systems, including at US Department of Agriculture, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and in the (still to pass) Farm Bill
Expand the scope and scale of the Land Core Risk Model with new private-sector lenders, insurers, investors and policymakers, including through regional partnerships and demos
Create and disseminate new forms of science-led education and resources to support and coalesce the growing range of stakeholders who can advance and invest in soil health
Land Core is a fiercely focused and unique organization that is in a great position to expand and build influence over the coming years… but we do need your support. So please donate, share about our work, and engage with us. Together we will go far!
As always, donations are tax-deductible. Thank you for joining us in making change from the ground up.
Read on for our newly released policy recommendations for the incoming presidential administration, as well as a couple of other quick updates.
We hope you’re staying warm and enjoying a restful and nourishing start to the holiday season.

Land Core Publishes Soil Health Policy Recommendations for Trump-Vance Administration
Soil health is the foundation for national food security. It is the bedrock of American public health and the key to the integrity and reliability of our country’s food system. We are pleased to share new, high-level recommendations, designed to provide guidance to the incoming presidential administration on ways to advance soil health across key federal government agencies, including USDA, HHS, FEMA and more. Read the recommendations here.
Also of note, given the interest in soil health from the incoming Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr, and the important connection between soil health and human health, Land Core has begun sharing soil health-related policies with newly nominated members of HHS. We look forward to expanding this work in the coming months and years, alongside the essential leadership from USDA on agricultural issues.
