Land Core 2023 Year in Review
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Happy New Year! We are pleased to share Land Core’s 2023 year-in-review, highlighting organizational accomplishments and progress for the soil health movement.
In the past year, we have welcomed new colleagues from across the country to our risk model and internal teams, made great strides in the development of the predictive model, including sharing preliminary findings with key potential users such as lenders, insurers, investors and policymakers, who can help make a “Good Soil Discount” a reality. We have been working to shape the Farm Bill to make it the most soil health-focused in history, as evidenced by the unprecedented number of new bills highlighted in our Federal Soil Health Bill Tracker. We’ve also supported partners like Regenerate America™ on the development and introduction of a number of needed marker bills, given feedback on countless other bills behind the scenes, and educated a diverse range of stakeholders.
We are immensely grateful to all the farmers, partners, coalition groups, and funders who make this work possible, and we look forward to all 2024 has to offer.
Wishing you a safe, joyful and restful new year.
