Land Core participates in Soil & Climate Alliance "Creating Regenerative Opportunity for Ag Lenders” Finance Roundtable

On September 13, 2022, our Executive Director, Aria McLauchlan, and our Director of Strategy, Harley Cross, participated in a roundtable on "Creating Regenerative Opportunity for Ag Lenders" as part of Green America’s Soil & Climate Alliance (SCA) Virtual “Financing Regenerative Transitions” Roundtable Series.

SCA recently released the recording of the roundtable, which you can rewatch here:

During this conversation, Land Core’s co-founders Aria and Harley were joined by Maggie Monast of the Environmental Defense Fund and Bryan Stanek of Compeer Financial to discuss opportunities and risks to financing the transition to regenerative agriculture through agricultural lending, the need for more data quantifying the economic and environmental benefits of regenerative agriculture, and the importance of voluntary incentives, education and support for farmers to make the transition.

The Soil & Climate Alliance Financing Regenerative Transitions roundtable series “brings together actors from large, medium, and small-scale banking institutions, farmers and ranchers, scientists and policymakers to discuss (1) the barriers farmers are facing when seeking loans to support regenerative transitions, (2) the environmental, financial, and investment benefits of regenerative agriculture, and (3) how lending institutions can leverage regenerative agriculture to secure future revenue streams.
